Khan Cordice’s presentation on the steel drums at the Sound & Music Summer School was really inspiring and exciting. I have a good knowledge of jazz music so it was great to hear Khan play an arrangement of ‘Misty’ on the steel drums.
There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like apart from that he could have played for longer (because he was so good!). I learnt about the history of the steel drums and how they were created in Trinidad and developed in Antigua. Khan was passionate about the steel drums and was a brilliant player. This combined with his good humor made the event thoroughly enjoyable.
