I am currently working on a short marimba piece as part of the world music composition group. I wrote the first couple of bars myself, but it was then passed around the room at five minute intervals, so it has actually been written by six different people. It was an interesting exercise, because the piece evolved and went in a completely different direction to the one I had expected it to. It also taught me not to be precious about my work- a valuable life skill as a composer. I intend to edit and complete the piece by the end of today.
