The amazing warm weather last year kept everyone busy. We hope it’ll return soon!

With the wet and rainy weather we’ve had over the last week, the plants have been growing quick and strong over the last couple of days. I’m sure that this is a good omen for the week of compositions which will grow out of the Sound and Music Summer School at the Purcell School in Bushey.

OK, so no more cheesy lines (well, not for the next few moments!)

With the pupils arriving tomorrow they can look forward to meeting almost eighty other young composers all with a similar passion for creating new music. Combine this with the world class musicians and tutors they will be working with I get the feeling that this is going to be another fantastic week of composition.

We’re going to be blogging our way through the week again so keep checking back here to find out what we are doing. You’ll hear from me, the tutors, musicians and most importantly the students as the week takes place. We’ll keep you up to date with our inspirations and what we are all up to.

Finally, last year we launched the SaMs10 programme to celebrate the summer school’s tenth anniversary in 2018. to find out more have a look at the video below.
