I had no idea what to expect from this group: I came to the course feeling quite unproductive and dry as a composer and I was worried that I would struggle to achieve anything. However, after the first sessions I knew that I had come into the perfect environment for me to develop. Over the last couple of days my mind has been opened to new possibilities of sound, and I have rediscovered the excitement I felt when I first started to compose.

Tutors and musicians have offered helpful advice on how to develop my work, and although giving music I’d composed to professional musicians was nerve-wracking, having such experienced people play and listen to my piece has been a great experience. I don’t know how successful my finished piece will be, but I know I’ll leave this group as a better composer.
