This is my second year on Sound and Music Summer School, and it remains an experience I will cherish and remember. It is the highlight of my summer, and it’s great meeting a whole new set of young composers and facing a whole new set of challenges; including translating, composing and integrating a Nigerian poem into my vocal composition- an entirely new experience! Last year I wrote music to a film, and while the process had its own challenges and hurdles, I feel I am really stretching myself this year, both creatively and musically- learning so much, and discovering so many new artists, genres and pieces. The week, as usual, continues to get better- if not slightly more stressful as the deadline approaches! Looking forward to day 3 tomorrow.
